P305300 Intake manifold pressure sensor 1 out of range Low

So this is becoming more frequent. Only seems to happen when the engine is warm and when braking. Any thoughts to the root cause? I'm assuming there's an air leak...
TIA

Strange one really. The only part of the brake system that interacts with the inlet manifold pressure is the servo, which, if it had failed would let air in and increase the pressure.

So I’d be starting with the sensor first.

Are you sure you don't have an air leak Chris ?
Get the intake smoke tested my guess would be that the sensor is okay and triggering the code due to a leak.

We can't find one, but it's possible has to be said. Not had a full smoke test yet though

BTW, I don’t mean change the sensor, but look at the live data when it is operating.

It looks like the vac system on the Ghibli has a vacuum pump and a solenoid mounted to the top of the manifold. Is it definite that it only happens when you are braking?

Ahhh. I've only noticed it trigger when I'm braking. I can only see the sensor on the parts diagram on the manifold.

Do we need live data as the fault triggers, or just live data while the car is running?

If you have the option of logging the data I'd do that until you can see the data when it faults.

Pull the engine cover off and check for the intake Y pipe where it goes into the engine for a split. Very common, fouls on one of the engine cover fixings which I snip off and file down.

I would go for a dirty map sensor of vac leak. A smoke tester is the simplest way to find it.

All the way to Sandy and back, no CEL.

Yes indeed. You mentioned that with the idle issue. Still can't see any splits there. Will try to do some data capture. Probably not until next week, with the Boston trip tomorrow and funeral on Tuesday

Cheers all
